Hot on the heels of “Savior“, “Show Me” showcases the more chilled, tropical house, sound that Chris Howland is a master of.
With smooth vocals from Chris Hird (who previously featured on Howland’s “Let You Go” – out on Deeplife Records), the “Mellow Mix” blends live instruments with live instrument sounding pads and chilled beats.
Initially, it is easy to think that the lyrics are speaking of an earthly, romantic, relationship, but as the verses unfold, it becomes clear that they speak of our relationship with God and the peace that comes with handing control of the “rudder” of your life over to Him.
“Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go.” (James 3:4)
The “Hype Mix” has more processed vocals with the full lyrics taking a backseat to the vocal hook. It also has slightly less of the “live-instrument” feel and more electronic synth sounds.
The release also comes with extended versions of both the Mellow and Hype Mixes as well as a “100bpm Clapapella” to add into your “poolside” house mixes!
