“Twenty Twelve” from Chris Howland on MK837 is a re-release of tracks originally put out in 2013 (“Worship”) and 2015 (“Twenty-Twelve”).
Twenty Twelve is a more Tech House edged track with a latin flavour to the beats.
The track opens with a simple kick pattern accompanied by latin-style clicks and percussive elements and swinging hats.
As the track breaks, the tech-synths come in and a rising synth builds the pressure. The track drops into a stuttering beat with pauses in the beat and additional pads bring some extra interest.
A further break introduces a piano chord riff and, as the track drops again, the rhythm of the piano adds further latin flavour to the track.
Although this is a re-release of older tracks, both still sound fresh and will fit nicely in any Tech/Deep-House set.
