Hideaway from Seattle based Levi Whalen is a bit of a builder. Starting with some nicely arpeggiated synths and simple pad and bass riffs, it gradually layers up with a synth hook before taking you into a piano break and adding the vocals. As the break builds, layers of sweeping chords are added before the track drops into the beat. From here, even more layers are added to the beat and melodies to produce a really full electro/trance-edged house sound.
At no point does the track divert from the basic melody elements, simply adding and subtracting parts to add some nice light and shade and variety to the song.
Levi has produced and remixed a lot of tracks so look out for more from him on the blog.
